My friends over at Brill Communications sent over a few brushes from Real Techniques and I thought I should do a little official blog review on them to share my thoughts!
I have been using Real Techniques Brushes for YEARS now.
They have some of the absolute best brushes on the market (high-end and drugstore included!) and I always find myself picking up some of their brushes every time I find myself at the drugstore or at Marshalls / Winners. I love the quality of these brushes, I have never come across one of their brushes that has fallen apart or shed (at all) in 5+ years. And I wash and use my brushes a lot!
Here are the two brushes that I wanted to review today:
Both of these brushes are award winning, incredibly soft and versatile. They feel high-quality, are well made, and are the perfect addition to my collection. I like to use them for a few different products and likely down the road I will find more uses for them both!
400 Blush Brush – For a Flawless Finish
- Tapered cut to blend like a pro
- Ideal for cream or powder blush
- Blends for a smooth, natural look
- 100% cruelty-free
I love to use this brush for blush & for contour / bronzer. It is literally the perfect size and shape for both and I love how soft, fluffy, and how easily it blends out my powders. The way that it is tapered fits perfectly on the apples of my cheeks, in the hollows of my cheek-bones, and across my forehead. This brush is a must-have in my opinion! If I had to choose my favourite way to use this brush, I would have to say to apply bronzer and contour! The pink handle also makes me weak!!!
You can also get this brush in their Everyday Essentials Brush Kit which is a really fabulous value.
201 Powder Brush – Smooth, High Definition Results
- Get the ideal dusting of makeup
- Ideal for powder and mineral foundations
- large plush head for sheer application
- 100% cruelty-free
I LOVE this brush for dusting on loose setting powders. It is soft and fluffy, yet has the perfect touch of firmness to it. Using the very tips of the brush really gets loose powder into those pores, which blurs them if you are using a blurring powder. It is also a fantastic brush for bronzer because of the way it diffuses and blends the powder. I definitely want to pick up another brush so that I can have one dedicated to loose powder, and one dedicated to bronzer! I would prefer the handle to be thinner, but that’s just a minor complaint, and nothing that affects the performance of the bristles! I truly love this brush, and think you need this one in your collection as well.
